Windows Phone 7: The Present and The Prospects Microsoft needs its Windows Phone platform to succeed. After widely positive reviews last fall, when Windows Phone 7 first launched, the platform hit some major bumps, in terms of delivering updates to users in a timely fashion. With no Windows Phone 7 announcement (still) from Verizon and no substanial push from Microsoft's new best Windows Phone friend, Nokia expected until 2012, Microsoft is treading water and not gaining much headway in the mobile phone market. Nonetheless, Gartner and IDC both are predicting a miraculous rise-of-the-underdog move by Microsoft in the smartphone space between now and the next couple of years.
Join this Live ZDNet Webcast, featuring Mary Jo Foley, to get an overview of what's going on with Microsoft's Windows Phone platform and what could/might happen in the next year-plus that will either make or break it. Topics will include the coming "Mango" phone update (due out later this year), the Nokia wildcard, and Microsoft's grand "Windows Everywhere" plan. There will be a little something for everyone: Microsoft partners, customers, competitors and analysts. (Sponsored by ZDNet)
